Born in Liverpool, Tracey White’s journey into photography began in childhood, inspired by her aunt’s passion for capturing family memories through slides and cine films. This early exposure ignited a lifelong fascination with storytelling through fine art and surreal images.
In the summer of 2021, the photographer faced unexpected health symptoms consistent with electromagnetic energy which led to a possible diagnosis of FND. Seeking solace, White turned to photography, discovering a renewed sense of purpose through creative expression. Exploring her surroundings with a camera became a refuge, particularly in the realms of street, seascapes and fine art photography.
Tracey White’s artistic process is characterized by creating a composition from photographs often shot at multiple locations which are then combined with layering textures and digital enhancement to evoke a sense of the surreal and the dreamlike, inviting viewers to engage with the subconscious narratives woven into each piece.
Each photograph encapsulates fragments of life infused with emotional depth, inviting contemplation and introspection. The photographer continues to refine her skills and experiment with new techniques, occasionally exhibiting pieces in the UK and internationally.
Unicorns in Sea Mist and From the Shadows are featured in Fotonostrum’s World of Photography volume 2.
